AI validation of diagnosis-prognosis consistency, ICD-9/10 codes, mandatory fields and suspicious patterns. For sick-leave certificates for INPS (Italy's national social security institute), civil invalidity certificates and certificates under Law 104 (Italy's framework law on disability).

What it validates

Diagnosis-prognosis consistency

Is the duration stated on the certificate clinically reasonable for the diagnosis described? Certificato Sicuro compares diagnosis and prognosis against the relevant guidelines and flags inconsistencies.

Code validity

Does the ICD-9 or ICD-10 code given exist, is it current, and does it match the written diagnosis? Automatic cross-check against the official classifications.

Field completeness

All the fields required by the receiving body are present and filled in. Missing sections are highlighted before signing.

Formal risk patterns

Issuing frequency, timing, unusual durations, recurring anomalies for a single patient. Informational alerts for the doctor: the judgement remains with the professional.

Corrective suggestions

When validation flags an inconsistency, Certificato Sicuro proposes a concrete correction that the doctor can accept, edit or reject.

A support tool

Structured output (valid · not valid · needs review) with reasoning. The doctor reads, assesses, decides and signs. Responsibility remains with the professional (Law 24/2017; AI Act Article 14).

Priority use cases

Initial medical certificate for civil invalidity: the document the treating doctor completes to start the recognition procedure. Certificato Sicuro checks the consistency between the written diagnosis and the ICD code, between the declared functional limitations and the diagnosis, and the completeness of the mandatory fields before online submission to INPS.
INPS sick-leave certificate: checks diagnosis, prognosis, ICD code, the address for home inspection visits and the start and expected end dates. Flags inconsistencies between the stated duration and the declared clinical picture.
Certificates under Law 104: completeness and consistency checks for the assessment of severe disability. Mandatory fields, primary and secondary diagnoses, ICD codes, consistency with the attached documentation.
Medico-legal certificates for court experts (CTU) and INAIL (Italy's workplace accident insurer): formal check before delivery to the court-appointed technical expert, in an expert assessment or for INAIL benefits. Consistency between diagnosis, limitations, causal link and supporting documentation.
